EXACTLY WHAT IS AN
UPDO?
An "updo" is when long hair is styled
and fastened so that it is held up on the head,
exposing the neck. The term is sort of modern
verbal shorthand for "doing a hairdo that's
up." Creating updo hair styles is, in my
mind, akin to sculpting a masterpiece. Each updo
will be different, and serve a unique purpose...formal,
funky, fun, even whimsical. An updo hair style
can be whipped up in one quick sweep for a casual
feel, or labored over for hours from start to
finish, depending on the function.
UPDO'S have been one of the longest lasting trends
for social parties or events. Hollywood stars
like Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan often wear
updos for Award Shows and red carpet events. This
season shows us soft wavy styles. Nothing pulled
tight or severe. At the salon, stylists are using
hot rollers, curling irons and rollers to achieve
these looks. Updos shout glam and red carpet!

hair to look it's best on your wedding day, while
still reflecting your personal style, and complimenting
your dress, headpiece, and your theme. It's a
tall order, and requires some thought and preparation.
The Bridal UPDO as an ARTFORM "There are
specific techniques that are 'sought after' by
our brides", quotes Sandy Anders owner of
THE HAIR EXPERTS of Dallas. "These techniques
are skills that make our designers who they are,
and is what helps create that Perfect Day for
the Bride. Whether your needs are a 'simple french
twist', help with the proper placement for your
tiara, an updo for a bridal portrait, or a large
group to fit into our scheduling..." WE CAN
ACCOMMODATE.
At The Hair Experts in Dallas we have a wonderful,
experienced make-up artist on call who specializes
in wedding make-up applications. " What I'm
good at is taking something that looks good and
finding a way to make it just a little bit better.
I've got an eye for form, proportion and focal
points, and I'm so pleased to have found a way
to utilize these skills by launching PhotoVamp."
